Butter Cookies

Salam Ramadhan to all, it has been a while since my last post, so i'm here to post a totally-worth-trying recipe of Butter Cookies.

Here's a sneak peak of how it looks like :D

By the way, trust me it tastes better than it looks like! :)

You should have a try too since Raya is just around the corner. This cookies are really easy to be made and most probably you already have the ingredients at home :D

10 oz butter

1 tablespoon butter oil *optional, its fine if you dont have it, but it does tastes better with it
1 egg yolk
3 oz + 1 tablespoon icing sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
11 oz all purpose flour
4 oz corn starch
2 tablespoons full cream milk
1.2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method :

Cream butter with butter oil, sugar, egg yolk, salt and vanilla extract until fluffy not watery.

Add milk and mix well.

Fold in multipurpose flour and corn starch. Mix until dough become soft and not sticky.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit. Place the cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to let it set and easier to roll. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut it using cookie cutters. And just to share, if you want a better cookies shape, after the placing the cookies on the baking sheet, place it in the refrigerator for another 10 mins. This will firm up the dough so the cookies will maintain the shape when baked!

Bake for 15 minutes, or untill cookies are light brown :) Let it cool on a wire rack.

P/s In my case, i didnt use any cookie cutters, i just piped in the dough straight to the baking sheets and you can create any shapes you like ;)

Happy trying!
